Whether you’re a woman who is just beginning to feel the tuggings of perimenopause,
a woman who has just about had it with all of the sweating and brain fog,
or a woman who is already past all of the midlife upheaval but would like to explore her “wise-woman” essence a bit more deeply, this workshop can be a wonderful way to~~
************
In this introductory segment of Wise Woman Yoga, we’ll focus on some of the different ways we can use our bodies to better understand and manage the challenges of menopause.
We’ll begin by talking a little bit about The Change and how mind/body practices like yoga can help with some of our midlife challenges. Then we’ll move on to some breathing and centering exercises to increase our sense of relaxation and self-awareness.
Once we’re settled, we’ll begin to explore some gentle yoga postures aimed at helping to relieve some of the specific challenges of the feminine midlife passage. Some of the challenges we’ll work to address include hot flashes or power surges, sleeplessness, brain fog, nervousness, changes in attitude and mood, as well as struggles with emotions like anger, confusion, and grief.
We’ll also take some time to explore some brief segments of self-guided movement to allow each woman an opportunity to access her own inner wisdom regarding her unique midlife issues.
We’ll conclude the workshop with a guided meditation specifically designed to help us manage the very unique challenges of the feminine midlife passage.
************
This workshop is well suited for women new to yoga and movement as well as more advanced practitioners. Women should come dressed in clothing that will allow them to move freely and comfortably and should also be prepared for the drop in body temperature that can sometimes occur during the final relaxation segment (socks, a sweatshirt). Handouts will be provided at the end of the workshop with questions to inspire women to explore some of the emotional and spiritual aspects of the menopausal journey at home through journaling exercises.
**Please be advised that outdoor footwear is not permitted in the studio. Should you have any issues with going barefoot, please bring safe-footed socks or slippers.
Let's face it, change can be HARD, especially when it's THE CHANGE!
Why not come and explore some of the softer aspects of this
amazing and sometimes infuriating time of transformation and growth!
